What you need:
Polystyrene balls – I used 12 x 20mm
Fabric strip the width of the fabric x 21/2″ (I used a Fat 1/4 so cut 2 strips across the longest side and joined them)
2 x 15mm Ribbon Clamps
2 x 7mm Jump Rings
1 Heart Toggle
Take the fabric strip and with right sides together, stitch down the length of the strip using a 1/8″ seam. Turn through to the right side.
Fold to find half way or if you joined like me you have the seam at the half way point. Tie a knot there. Put a polystyrene ball into the tube and move it along to the knot. (The join will be hidden in the knot)
Tie a knot up against the ball – I found that by twisting the tube first I was able to get a neater, more manageable knot.
Then simply continue adding a ball to each side and knotting as you go.
When your necklace is the length you like (I used 12 balls) finish with a knot. Trim the length (if needed), fold the edges into the tube.
Fold each edge of the tube to the centre and it will be the right size for the clamp.
Take a Ribbon Clamp and clamp it over the finished end of the tube – I had to borrow poppy’s pliers.
Add a Jump Ring and then the Toggle.
Do the same to the other side and you are done!
